Typically, the average wind speed here on the coast is about (6-22km/h) or (3-10m/s) with frequent wind gusts. I have setup two 1500W wind turbines (with permission) on the roof of my 12 story apartment complex. They will definitely get lots of wind up there from the open coastal sky they get.
The image below is how I plan to set it up, as I also plan to use some of that wind to keep my batteries cool and remove some of the heat generated by the inverter & batteries. The tubing will be aluminum (which will capture the wind in a clock-wise motion). The batteries will sit on top of a relatively thin metal plate with pre-drilled holes which will cool the metal they sit on in order to help with balancing the heat I assume they will generate from constant use.
I typically use about 3-4kw of power per month, so I bought a 4000W 24V inverter. I also got 2 solar/wind hybrid charge controllers because summer is around the corner and will also attach solar panels for the extra umpf for those AC units for those rare hot windless days that happen.
The issues I am currently encountering is how to connect the batteries. From what I have seen online, they should be connected in "Parallel???" Some other sites say "Series/Parallel". So I thought I would wait till I got some better advice from others who have more experience on this. Hence, why I am here on this forum. And recently I was told I should alos look into placing fuses on the Positive (RED) lines for added protection. But I neglected to ask where they should be placed.
Any help, advice, suggestions or constructive comments would be greatly appreciated.
