Experimenting with paints for restoring old mills

So lately, I've been using Rustoleum Hammered spray paint and really like the finish, it looks sharp. We'll see how durable it is. I'm planning to try Sherwin-Williams' cold galvanizing paint next, since it's high in zinc. Most mills I get are rough, so a good prep and repaint is necessary.

Sherwin-Williams' cold galvanizing options like ZRC contain high-purity zinc and offer true galvanic protection, which helps fight corrosion on steel. They're brush, roller, or spray friendly and don't need sandblasting for most jobs. If you're working with rough mills, make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying. Are you planning to use it as a primer or full coat?

I've used Rustoleum cold galvanizing, it looks close to weathered metal at first but darkens over time. One customer painted his 6' Aermotor with Rustoleum Hammered, which looks great but isnt recommended for galvanized metal , so I haven't checked how it's holding up since it's far away. Another nearby customer used Sherwin-Williams' COROTHANE I MIO-ALUMINUM, a tough urethane coating that seems promising, and i'll keep an eye on how it lasts.
